The Rita Koontz Memorial Scholarship

Long-time International Field Directors and Technologies Conference Registrar Rita Koontz passed away suddenly in September of 2018. Rita was a mainstay to the conference for over 20 years, keeping it organized, helping to ensure its continuation, and making it a welcoming and nurturing environment for both brand new attendees and people who had been attending for decades. Rita worked at the SESRC at Washington State University, and was especially committed to making IFD&TC an ongoing source of professional development opportunities for early-career staff and small survey research organizations.

IFD&TC created the Rita Koontz Memorial Scholarship in Rita’s memory and to honor her commitment to those from small survey research organizations or new to the field of survey research. We are requesting donations to create a fund that will cover the registration fee for one early-career or small shop attendee each year.
