Arthur B. Kennickell
Assistant Director, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
Arthur Kennickell is Assistant Director of Research and Statistics at the Federal Reserve Board. He has long been associated with the Survey of Consumer Finances and he has written extensively on issues related to survey methodology. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and a winner of the Julius Shiskin Award for innovation in economic statistics. He earned a Ph.D. in economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nathaniel Osgood
Associate Professor, University of Saskatchewan
My research is focused on providing cross-linked simulation, ubiquitous sensing, and inference tools to inform understanding of population health trends and health policy tradeoffs. Such tools can, for example, aid public health decision makers in putting into place cost-effective preventive policies, design more effective screening or treatment strategies for an illness, help provide insight into the causes underlying changes in the number of cases of a disease reported, and react more quickly to an outbreak of infectious disease when it occurs. This work includes both application and methodological components.
Clifford Lampe
Assistant Professor of Information, School of Information, University of Michigan
Cliff is an assistant professor in the School of Information. Previously, he spent six years as an assistant professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University. He researches the social and technical structures of large scale technology mediated communication, working with sites like Facebook, Wikipedia, Slashdot and Everything2. He has also been involved in the creation of multiple social media and online community projects, usually designed to enable collective action. One of Cliff’s core values is combining top quality research with community engagement.
